When you are deciding on fencing one of the most important decisions that you can make is the type of wood that you will be using. Whilst there are a huge numbers of decisions that you have to make about fencing you should pay particular attention to the type of the wood.

The reason for this is that the wood has a huge bearing over a number of factors – including both the look and the longevity of the fencing.

Cedar Fence Posts

One of the main types of wood that you can consider is cedar. Cedar fence posts have become particularly popular amongst many people. This is because cedar has two very specific qualities that make it perfect for use as a fence post.

1)	it is a stunning beautiful wood that would look amazing in almost any garden
2)	it is a very strong wood, unlikely to break or decompose if treated properly.

Both these factors are huge when it comes to fence posts.

Fencing is a very important part of the garden and so it is important that you ensure you get the right look for your fencing. Of course when it comes to the ‘look’ of the fencing it is the posts that define things – they are the strong, center point that link everything together.

That strong center point is vital in another way as well – providing a base for the fence. Without a strong base a fence could fall apart, whether through a strong gust of wind or the wood rotting. Cedar fence posts are so important because they are so unlikely to fall apart.

The type of wood that you choose for for fencing is up to you, and there are a lot of good woods to choose from out there. But make sure you give proper consideration to cedar fence posts.
